Leather straps are quite common in chronograph wrist watch designs. Some of the leather types commonly used are Reptile Shark Crocodile Bamboo and Calf Grian. Leather straps add a stylish, elegant look to the watch as opposed to the high-tech cold look of metal bands. Another advantage of leather straps are their more natural, comfortable feel of the wrist than the steel band variations. (Stainless steel bands contain a considerable amount of nickel in them, which can produce rashes and discomfort.)
