Flannel Pajamas
I realize it is still too deep into summer to talk about flannel pajamas, but for some reason I woke up in a winter mood this morning and found myself drowning in winter memories brought by a wave of nostalgia. I don’t know if it is the recent wave of pajama related films that got me thinking pajamas (there is even a recent film titled “Flannel Pajamas”) but I got to thinking about cuddling in but under thick feather covers wearing nothing but flannel pajamas to my skin, feeling that soft, warm touch that spells home, warmth and safety.
I looked around in my old closet but there were no flannel pajamas to be found. I seemed to remember quite clearly that I used to own a pair in the past but I haven’t used them in ages. Not that I was going to wear flannel pajamas in this sweaty season, I am having enough trouble as it is getting to sleep in my birth suite, but I just wanted to feel the touch, to be reminded of winter just for a bit.
So I went online and started looking around at what the web had to offer in the flannel pajamas market. It seems there are several stores online specializing in pajamas, which is a nice idea in itself. The variety of sleepwear available today staggered me, I did not know there were that many options to choose from. In the flannel department I could fins most of the traditional designs plus a few original, new ones. The ever so popular blue-offwhite striped pajamas is apparently still a big hit. Maybe it is the recent success of the film titled “The boy who wore Pajamas” in spite of the gloom subject of the film. Leopard prints are quit ubiquitous as well, and Polka dot design is also widely available. On some of the more stylish stores plaid flannel pajamas for women seem to be a big hit and even manage to look stylish on some of the models. Some designs feature flannel shorts of boxers sleepwear which is a nice combination of summer and winter clothing put into one.
As I mentioned, I was not going to buy any of these right now but browsing through the selection made me feel comfortable that come winter time, I will not be left wanting when setting out to buy a new set of flannel pajamas.
